How POTSAudit Works
Three steps from bill to report in under a minute.
Upload your phone bill or enter a number
Drag and drop your carrier bill — AT&T, Verizon, Lumen, and most carriers supported in PDF, CSV, or Excel format. We extract every phone number and line description automatically using AI. Prefer to check a single number? Enter it directly without uploading anything.
Your uploaded bill is stored securely and available to download from your report.
We look up every line by wire center and carrier
Using the NPA-NXX (first 6 digits of each number) we identify the specific telephone wire center serving that line and cross-reference it against copper retirement filings. We also enrich each number with real-time carrier data:
- Carrier — the current serving carrier for that number
- Line technology — landline, VoIP, non-fixed VoIP, or mobile
- Registered name — caller ID name on file, if available
Retirement status is determined from AT&T's FCC filings:
- Retired — service has already ended
- Deadline approaching — retirement within 90 days
- Scheduled — retirement date set, over 90 days out
- Notice filed — retirement process started, no date yet
- Not listed — no retirement filing found
Get your report with replacement options
Every line is classified by type — fire alarm, elevator, fax, security, voice — and paired with its retirement status, carrier details, and a direct link to the FCC notice if one has been filed.
At-risk lines are matched with compliant replacement options (Ooma AirDial, Alarm.com CopperLink, VoIP alternatives) with estimated costs and savings. Your report has a permanent link you can share with your facilities team, contractor, or carrier.
